Re: RoF Screenart
Awesome! And who wouldn't want ME on their desktop? :D The next patch should allow for much quicker load times when using mods. As you know Noter, custom skins fall into this category. So skinning will finally be possible to host without delaying the missions, though I don't know how they will impac...

Re: Battlefield 3
Picked up the Limited Edition for my son. He is playing the campaign and jumped online with some of his buddies. Liked the campaign and really likes multiplayer. Said the jets were a lot of fun, though he will need more time with them. Helos tough but enjoyable. I took a peek at his campaign and mus...

Re: Battlefield 3
So there you are. :-$ I will pick it up for my son. However, he tells me that multiplayer will be linked to his DVD, so for me to play and keep my own stats (avatar) I will either need to purchase another code or buy my own copy. Sadly, he wouldn't want me ruining his k/d ratio. ;) I suspect a lot o...

Battlefield 3
Was taking a peek at some of the Battlefield 3 videos on YouTube last night. Must say I enjoyed the immersive jet takeoff on the carrier. I know, total rubbish from a sim point of view, but coming from a fellow who doesn't dig jets this was rather cool. Of course that was just one of the missions in...

Re: Sound Issues
By any chance are you using that "reduce game volume when someone is speaking" in TS3? When I tried that feature it caused my ROF sounds to become very low. Even at 100% ROF was too low to properly hear. Could this be the problem?

Re: Heeeeey Guys?
Well I might be hosting a session tomorrow night. Uncertain at this point. If not, then there should be a session next week. Sessions are expected to be more regular (weekly or biweekly) as we head into fall. Just keep an eye on that thread (which is available to the general public). And yes you are...

Re: OnLine ROF Cherry Busted
Welcome to the world of Rise of Flight Mike! Actually under the Squadron forum we have a sub forum for this excellent sim. Please check it out mate. That newbie server is a great way to jump quickly online. Relaxed settings for the newcomer. Now I tend to agree with you, lurking among these newbies ...

Re: Question About Disk Partitioning
While some folks create lots of partitions, the only real advantage I get from partitioning is to create two: one for your personal files and one for everything else. This way, when you eventually reformat you can leave your user files alone. Obviously your first partition (C:) must include the OS (...

Great stuff Notes. That's why I haven't seen you on the Xbox. I am currently reformatting the desktop and reloading ROF. Glad to hear you getting it mate. Let's hook up in WWI in a week or two.

First. Loved Airplane and Airplane II. But seriously, you H.E. folks need to give Notes a little breathing space while he gets his rig ready to play ROF with me.

Re: These Guys Are Nuts
So did you pick up Homefront? My son played it a little over the weekend (it was his friend's copy). Graphics for the campaign were similar to Rainbow Vegas, though I hear online is good (though a bit buggy at the moment). Think I will pass and might try Bad Company 2 in anticipation of Battlefield 3.

Re: New Version of TrackIr Software
Dan I cannot speak to your question, but I can confirm that Program Files (x86) is the new Program Files directory for Windows 7. Having said that, there is also a Program Files directory, which for some of my programs contains sub-directories in each. Perhaps some kind of legacy directory? Maybe. I...

Re: Libya 1941
As you probably know Frank you can reduce the flight distances, provided there are airbases closer to the frontline. If need be you can reassign flights to particular airbases. Up the neutral flights if the lads' machines are up to the challenge, as this really adds atmosphere and becomes more of a ...
