Chat and Tunes with Richard Thompson

One of my all time favorite songwriters and guitar players. Dan, take note. This is what I've been raving about.

Re: Wireless Router a No-Go For Hosting?

I have tried setting a static IP using the program called PortForward. It didn't help at the time, but I did not restart the router as you suggest, nor did I have my config.ini set at you suggest. I guess this would be the next thing to try next time I'm online with you guys. I do recall that the la...

Wireless Router a No-Go For Hosting?

Last week Mikester spent a couple hours trying to help both Helo and I to get our wireless routers (mine a netgear, his a linksys) set up with proper port forwarding to host il2. It appears in both cases that port forward was correctly set, but still no luck. My question is this; has anyone here eve...

Re: New Auto-Updater For HSFX

According to the 242 squad website, they deliberately used an earlier version of C++ in order to make the updater compatible with the earlier versions of Windows that some people are still running. If you game is running OK before using the installer (no corrupted HSFX files as turned out to be the ...

New update to 6.0.12. Kind of slow, they say they are trying to get faster speeds from the server.

I guess that answers my question- probably not worth the money right now. I'll keep overclocking the old girl a while longer.

Re: Card Upgrade- Is It Worth It?

I do use afterburner and I'm getting good results with it, just wondered if I would see even better with the 560. My MB is not set up for SLI, just crossfire, and like you Andrew I have heard that a single fast card is better than two lesser cards, especially for games like il2 and ROF that are not ...

Card Upgrade- Is It Worth It?

Right now I'm using a GTX 460 2gb and it's working fine (except for ClOD, of course). I'm thinking of upgrading to a GTX 560 2gb, which I can get locally for a little over $200 USD. Would I see a big enough improvement for it to be worth doing? I can't seem to find any direct comparison charts for b...
