Yes, very bad for intel.
But, 2 SATA ports 6 Gb/s on intel's controller are not affected,
and most of midrange boards have additional 2 ports on Marwell controller
which are also ok.

But maybe it's better to wait for march )

Hi guys :) Mikester showed me this last night, so maybe I can help a bit. Noter, like Gadje said you can't use 2500K with that board, differen't socket. Or maybe you returned that one ?
