Libya 1941

Post by :FI:Genosse » Fri Feb 25, 2011 6:05 am

Folks!

As promised I've downloaded the DCG Libya 1941 campaign and I got it working. So we could use it now for our Wednesday sessions. I still don't know how we can use the debriefing text to show the actual events on the battlefield ...

Any idea how to do this would be much appreciated. :D

I have been too busy to do anything for Sunday this week so maybe we could start this on Sunday?

Sorry Frank - no idea on the map issue, don't know my way around DCG to well

You picked a fun one Frank! Performance should be smooth, even with lots of action. Love that early plane set.

What ever you do will be better the Libya 2011. You'd have to be a right bastard to enjoy buzzing over those cities blasting away with 30mm cannons, cluster bombing the natives and then landing in Malta, I'm on it now Vin  Lock On anyone? :)

Cobbled together a fun DF mission for later if we need it:

FI Anagram War

Both teams have 6 recon targets.

The targets are campfires which spell out 1 letter. The 6 letters combine to make a word.

Overfly your 6 targets and solve the anagram. First team to announce anagram in text in the game is the winner.

Each target has a AAA position so those of us who struggle with navigation will at least know if the letter they find is part of their anagram or not!

HONOUR SYSTEM - please do not announce any letter you discover to your teammates over Teamspeak until you have returned safely to base. This is to simulate your safe return with your recon photos.

Too busy polishing my Iron Cross to post a comment

Lovely map, good action once the target was reached, but flight time was a bit long. Overall pretty good, happy to fly more of these on Sundays, and on Wednesdays when I can make it.

Good map. flight time was long. Allied mission brief seemed a bit confused.

Should have got the oak leaves with his Iron Cross 2nd Class for that one LOL.

I have to say I did enjoy the mission but as stated it did seem a tad long. Add to that the problems I am having with my game controls which have only appeared since I installed that god awful 4.10.1 patch (for some reason now my joystick movements seem uber sensitive and it is a struggle to get any plane to fly straight and level) then I was only able to fly one mission which was a bit of a disapointment.

Flying DCG on Sundays now? Outstanding. \:D/ I've really missed doing these ever since we flew "Bustard Hunt" on HE Fridays with :FI:Moe and :MOH:Soda way back when.
I was gone last weekend, and Sundays are always good fun, but they just took a big priority leap for me. Save me a spot this weekend!!

As you probably know Frank you can reduce the flight distances, provided there are airbases closer to the frontline. If need be you can reassign flights to particular airbases. Up the neutral flights if the lads' machines are up to the challenge, as this really adds atmosphere and becomes more of a challenge on flight decision-making (i.e., deviate from the objective).
