Spitfire women

Post by :FI:Armitage » Tue Oct 05, 2010 6:50 pm

great program on BBC last week about women pilots in the Auxilllary Air Transport during WWII.
Its on the BC viewer. Worth a watch.

At the end one of the ladies was taking about what she flew and she had flown 76 different types from tiger moths, to spits, wellingtons, lancasters etc.

Often with just a pilot handbook and notes!

I didn't view the program, but their abilities were impressive to say the least.

By an odd coincidence we have women in America, too.
They frequently get pregnant, do it barefoot, and often with only hand-written notes. :^o
...and wear your feckin' mask!!!!! :x
