Hi all,
Hmm I can't to take off vertically with AV-8 (Hurrier), in situation with F-35 all OK it increases altitude... but with AV-8 - when I increase throtle (autohover on) it goes forward. I tried release flaps etc... What I do not correct?

I;ve tried it Alex and it looks like you cant get the Harrier into a vertical takeoff, it rolls and then adopts a hover position once your airborne.

It's actually true to life that the AV8 cant do a vertical takeoff when fully bombed up. It has to have forward momentum so as to unstick it's self from the floor.

I did a project on the history of the Harrier for a course I did many moons ago and the outcome of the AV8 was that they couldnot get enough thrust from the pegasus engine to do a vertical takeoff so a short takeoff roll was needed otherwise the engine would likely disintergrate from the strain.
