DVD RW questions?

Post by :FI:WillieOFS » Sun Jun 03, 2007 7:22 pm

My MOBO is an ABIT IC-7MAX3. I know it's old but it is still a good one.

Gonna get a new DVD-RW.CDRW thingy and wondering if the SATA interface would be the best way to go. This board has 2 IDE interfaces as well as BUNCH of SATA stuff available.

As my old/new rig is going to have two IDE drives and one SATA drive, I was just wondering if it was worth the extra $$ involved to go SATA.

Next question is, on the IDE drives, set them both to "slave"? THe SATA drive will be the main drive eventually.

Thanks.

I've got IDE master slave HD's and a SATA master HD + secondary IDE - master DVD'RW slave CD/RW.

I think it's a "per channel" thing

Don't know any reason why they wouldn't. May cost a few extra for shipping. Give 'em a shout and see.
