Anybody like Baileys?

Post by AltarBoy » Mon Dec 18, 2006 10:01 pm

Got a bottle from work in my Christmas hamper along with one big ham and some other goodies. But the last time I drank Baileys was in a Brown Cow me and my buddies made a few years back. We drank it instead of coffee in the mornings. I think you make Black Russian with it is that right? I also got a bottle of Old Oak Whiskey...think I'll give my Mother-in-Law that one.

It's OK but a bit pricey.

I prefer St. Brendans if I'm gonna drink the sweet stuff.

We usually mix Baileys with something called Nutrament (A health drink, of all things) to make Brown Cow. Dammit those worthless managers at the airport got bottles of Chivas Regal and Johnny Walker Blue. And I end up with cheap whiskey. There's no justice in this world!

take some coffee beans (10-20),
take a small orange, cut its skin deeply, stuff the coffee, piece by piece into that poor fruit,

take a big jar, put the whole orange into the jar, pour vodka, add 10-20 teaspoons of sugar,

add a piece of cinamon (powder is not welcome) (optional), a piece of vanilla (optional), cardamon (optional optional)

close the jar, put it into a safe place for 3 weeks,

enjoy the fresh taste of orange and coffee,

Baileys floated onto a glass of Sambuca... otherwise known as a slippery nipple. Great name, tastes like s**t.
Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker...

I've got it- 'Flaming Irishman'-

One part sambuca
One part Baileys
One part Tia Maria.

'Put the Tia Maria in first, then float the baileys on top using the back of a spoon then do the same with the Sambuca on top of the Baileys, then light the Sambuca and shoot the drink while its still alight'

Still sounds like it tastes like s**t but the name works.

Got it off this site-

http://www.cocktailuk.co.uk/db/viewAllC ... asp?type=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

looks promising (not to me it don't shrieked his liver)

I was in Riga last year on business.

9.00am We started the meeting with a large Baileys and Black Balsam.
9.30am We had another.
10.00am We had another.

" " " " "

By Lunchtime I ,had trouble focussing on the business plan, and had finally persuaded my hosts that,Baileys and Balsam was not my thing.

1.00pm We toured the Riga smoked Food Production Facility where they smoke all kinds of unusual bits of animals which are conveniently slaughtered, just next door "Come I show you".

2.00pm The Fish Factory "Here we have the Sturgeon, the king of fish"

3.00pm The Leather curing works.

5.00pm Flight to Stockholm Two very quiet passengers, strangely muted converstaion, both pale and sweaty,Thunderstorms over the Baltic, lots of turbulence.

9.00pm Flight to Scotland got to the airport car park went for a sleep in the car.

We laugh about it now but ... I now know for certain that Baileys is the Devils Drink.

Brown cow? pfffft Sounds like a girly drink.

Make a jug of Bloody Ceasar and get "comfortable"

A Bloody Ceasar is the same as a Bloody Mary, EXCEPT you use Mott's Clamato juice..
1.0 part see instructions!!! Vodka
5.0 parts Clamato Tomato Juice
Directions: Clamato juice mixed with vodka 1/5, mix in HP sauce 3 drops, dip the glass in lemon juice and dip it into celerysalt put a celery stalk into the glass -- enjoy!!!
Not having HP Sauce available here, I use Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire sauce.
Good stuff, Maynard. ;)
