BF2 Lock-Ups

Last time I did online BF2 with TacticalS I had a blast, cuz everything worked fine.

Yesterday tried with Gen, Rab, Dutch, et al , but would lock up after a few seconds of play.
Am still t-shooting issue, but it appears to be SF add-on related since it only started after the SF installation..
Happens on all servers and only in Multi-Player.
Does NOT happen in Single-Player.
Happens with both BF2 and SF.
Currently patched to 1.41.
Anyone else had this problem?

Don't want to lose you Dan with the complicated technical jardon, so let me just say its the COMPANY you keep when gaming. ;)

OK the problem is not funny. Sorry mate. Did you double-check your in-game video/audio settings to see if they are the same as when we played? The addon installation might have changed BF2, and SF has its own interface doesn't it? (sorry can't remember)

Hopefully you can get this fix soon. In the meantime practice your carrier landings mate. ;)

Regards,
TS!

Do you have any "mods" installed?
pOe or Reality?
I hear they may cause problems.
Fresh Install?

No mods installed...

...and verified all settings are as when Tact helped me set it up.

I'll uninstall SF and see if the problem clears up.

Only consistent recurrance is in Multiplayer mode.

...

I've uninstalled everything for now, but when I re-install will the sequence be critical?

Previous install was in this order:
BF2
v1.4 patch
SF Expansion
v1.41 patch

Now that the 1.41 full client is out, should the sequence be:

BF2/SF Expansion/v1.41 patch?

Or is the question moot?

Hi, Helo!

This is the right order of installation ... id you still should have troubles then it might be your hardware causing them ...

Have you solved your problem mate? Genosse's correct - BF2/SF/1.41 (full patch). It gets a bit more complicated if/when you purchase those other addons.

Anyway tonight was playing some more of the SF (Surge) through the surround sound speakers (usually I play only via headset). What an environment!

If there is interest next Friday (assuming I'm not busy myself), I really hope the guys will want to mess around with SF and maybe some stuff in BF2.

Let me know how you are making out Heloego.

TS!

...I'm making out just fine.
Even after 18yrs the missus and I are still in love. (Aaaaaah, ain't that sweet!)

That said, RL interfered and I'll be doing the re-install tomorrow.

Tonight's SuSe Linux 10.0 night at the Lawrence's, and now that Cricket has donated her 20gb HD to me it becomes a dedicated Linux HD. Will play with that tonight, then tomorrow back to something I actually understand. ;)
