Practice mission

Post by :FI:Sneaky_Russian » Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:10 pm

Formation practice mission
here are the notes:
The following mission can be launched from multiplayer and run
as a coop for both online and as a single player practice session.

The advantage of running for single player is that you may select
any plane from any flight, without creating seperate Single missions.

For formation practice you should select no. 2 or no 3 in any flight.
The aircraft will take a right hand pattern around the airfield.

You should try flying the circuit from both 2 and 3 positions
(even numbers on right of lead no.1 , odd numbers to left) .

Note that when lead aircraft is about to turn right , he will bank left first.
Use this for a visual clue.

When flying no.3 in a right hand turn you will need full throttle to keep up,
whereas flying no.2 you will have to throttle back (probably 50% or so) so as not to overrun or get ahead of the lead plane.

Unchecking "Takeoff and landing" in difficulty settings will give an air start,
with the planes already in formation.Try take-offs too, you will have to form up on first circuit, since AI do not do "formation take-off's".

Once you've had some practice at this take lead in the first aircraft so that you can direct formations of all flights and practice slotting in with your flight on one of the other groups.
