Speaking for myself, I could benefit from a change of class from HE night. Normally I dont show up for HE until 9:30-10:00 Eastern so my chances of being able to attend the GA classes as scheduled are slim. If there is enough interest to change the night I'll be there.

Mates,

Post by :FI:Heloego » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:11 am

1. Day change is still undecided. For now we'll remain on Friday Night.

2. Enrollment is easy: Check this thread often and when you see an announcement by me regarding the new class BE THERE on time. As stated, enrollment is a "first come - first served" basis. There's only room for three students per class, and once started no further students will be accepted until the next class.

3. Though the class is still Fridays, the start time will change to 5:00pm Mountain, 1 hour earlier than it has been. That would be 4:00pm Pacific, 6:00pm Central, 7:00pm Eastern, 8:00pm Atlantic, and 10:00pm Ireland/UK. See my next post, please.

4. Since Wednesdays are definitely out, I'm considering a possible Thursday or Saturday Session in addition to Friday.. This will allow me to process the current class twice as fast allowing for a shorter wait for new students. :)

5. Following Skipper's lead, the occasional one-on-one instruction may be helpful for those who are forced to miss a class. This would of course have to be considered on a per-person basis. I have to have a RL, too. ;)

6. As soon as I get Goat Skies running again, it will still include the downloadable Practice Missions. :)

In summary, I'm working on scheduling classes twice per week, and hope this helps to some extent. :)

Glad you can make it back, Snaphoo! Looking forward to the next class.
Somehow this old dog has learned a few new things, too. :oops:

Friday Session...

Post by :FI:Heloego » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:20 am

...will be held one hour earlier than normal, Gents!

This will allow us to join HE at it's new start time instead of stumbling in an hour after Tact starts.

...or were we just "fashionably late"? ;)

Tomorrow's Class

Post by :FI:Heloego » Thu Aug 17, 2006 11:41 pm

Last class in the first round!
Starts 5:00pm Mountain. Tactics.

Next Round starts Friday, Sept. 25.
Classes at 5:00pm Mountain.

Change:
As RL often tends to prevent some of us from keeping any solid schedule, resulting in missing some or all of any round/class, and though limited, more have professed an interest I'm re-evaluating the school schedule and regimen.
Current ideas include:
a) continue as before, 1 class/week, 4 student max;
b) two classes/week, same subject, same restriction;
c) two classes/week, different subjects, same restriction;
d) two classes/week, same subject, no restriction;
e) two classes/week, different subject, no restriction.

I lean toward "d)" as I think this will best serve the community.
Additionally, if any of the classes are not full, I'm willing to allow non-:FI: to participate.

The more the merrier.

Your thoughts, please?

No response(s) so no school.

I'm making a few changes in the course scheduling and content and trying to re-build GS and get it back online. Biggest issue is there doesn't seem to be a way to delete some corrupted files on the Comcast Server. Yet.
Assholes say they don't support the very space they provide. :evil:

I'm building a special practice mission for those who complete the course, so the time off will help me out a bit there.

Classes wil resume Sept 15th.
There will be classes on Fridays and Sundays on a bi-weekly basis 1 hour before HE and 1 hour before the Sunday Session.

This will be necessary because I just can't guarantee I'll be available during my days at work. Some of them get pretty long. :cry:

With two classes during my time off, I hope it balances things a bit.

Wow Helo, don't try to get overworked now! Or is it just the feeling that you had to make up for lost online time with the FIS :D

Kudos though to your (and everyone else involved) hard work. I made an offer in the flight school thread, but it counts here just the same. Sent me your favorite picture of you (yes, it has to be you, preferably small portrait), and I'll turn it into spiffy comic art.

Here's a few quickies I done for gaia members when active there.
