Missing online chat window

Post by :FI:Macca » Fri Feb 03, 2006 12:02 pm

Ok

Yesterday Macca launche PF and wanted to play online. So I entered the spits vs 109s server. Everything ok.

I press "`" key to type in "Hello"

I type it in ,choose "ALL" and press enter.

And I do not see the upper red/white/blue texts.

What the.....?

I played with the chat window ,moved it with mouse, enlarged and shrinked :), no joy....

Any ideas?

Everything, but reinstalling Il2.

It's been running for more then a year flawlesslly.....

Thx for any help, lads.

That´s the file you´ve to look for in your IL-2 main folder. Open it and look for following lines:
[chat]
region=(dx=0.8648437,dy=0.12916666,x=0.0,y=0.0)
(...)
It should be the first line ... just take my coordinates for the chat window by copying and pasting them ...

I hope this will work then ... ;)

Great stuff guys!

This is why grandma always told us, "Boys always make a backup of your game and user configuration files."

It has saved me more than once. ;)

Gen, I noticed the same phenomena...I just cut and paste that line in your message and everything is honky dory? What the hell made that line go away in the first place?

Gen, I got it back using your deal, but the text is HUGE now. How the heck do I get it small again?

The chat window box is user chanagable/sizeable using mouse "click & drag" (hence co-ordinates are held in the config file). In the past I have accidentily dragged it to nothing especially when using the Normandy maps and trying to select the most northerly airfields.
