Yaks over Yaroslavl

Post by :FI:Falcon » Tue Jan 17, 2006 11:59 pm

Well ...

I worked all day last week on improving the old Yak-9 void and my ancient initial template and what did I find the next day?

An improved void released by another skinner (probably one of Oleg's boys) from early last year!

Gah!

All the really hard fixes were done by this good soul,

but he still had not fixed a lot of stuff and some of his hard work was a wee bit off.

Well, some of my stuff (a lot) is a wee bit off too,

but this new template is less off than all three previous templates/voids put together!!

I don't understand what I just wrote.

...

Anyway ... a work in progress (WIP):

Image

Doing a new template in solid RAF graygreen w/Ire markings is easier than an historical design and helps me learn all (some) of the befugglements that a model may have.

I will not be original, I echo the boys above - but please let me have the Stones tongue instead of The Sheep and if you could paint a nice "78" on the birdie:)

And ":FI:Macca" under the canopy, if possible :)

Once you get everything sorted, I would like one with a nice 89 (or two) on it.

Well done as always.

Okay, the Yak-9 is done. Well, no skin is ever done, but I need to move on.

Slightly smaller pics if some folk are having loading slowdowns. Let me know if you are.

In RAF graygreen with FIS markings.

Options are:

- number and number color,

- name and or FIS insignia,

- nose art limited to existing graphics.

~~~
An old issue has arisen in the Ubi forums. Please don't gush all over this skin to make me feel good. Nice opinions are ALWAYS welcome, but if you have an idea to help make this better or to improve my technique, let me know.
Falcon
PS: If you would like a particular historical Yak-9 skin done send a decent profile or something to me and I will be happy to give it a go.
