Been prowling the forum but not seen any, so I hadda make one - have I missed them or is it just me who plays with bombers with noseart?

Anyway as my B-25 took another battering of spray paint and gets another day closer to completion (27% complete...loading...) I decided to make a Fighting Irish noseart thing for it - (33% complete..loading...) - just bragging rights mostly as its my first really irishy one..anyway without further ado... I unveil it... *Drum roll* lights, action - queue dissaponitment

Tad-daaaaa!

And yes, I will be changing the lettering to something like green or orange or both.

Agree with Falcon, those wheels are bitchin'.

Would love to do some nose art for ya. Take a look at my Thunderbolt in the skins section. I took a pinup picture and had my way with it.

Been having problems with making noseart - sometimes the game finds them sometimes not, I make sure they're bmp / 8bit 256 (or whatever they are standard) and 'there it is' or 'where is it'

Couldn't find the Thunderbolt (I'm blind)- what page is it on?

It is in the skinners forum> P-47 FI topic.

Not sure what the issue might be, sounds like it's right. You use PSP or Photoshop? PSP would be Falcon's department, I don't have a clue, now Photoshop... I can help ya out. I have found that some nose art doesn't load real well. A simple horizontal name, tends to look very small and pixelated when I tried it, but the pinup girl, worked great.

Paintshop Pro 9, yes its odd how sometimes they load and sometimes they don't. I'm thinking its got something to do with the format or the size - not idea, but you would think if you copy an original and just change it and rename it then it would work... but nope, not always!

Be sure to copy, edit and change it BACK to 8 bit with BRIGHT.

and it should work.

My latest noseart - I wouldn't say it was totally finished but I spent alot of time having to merge the colours from original anime wallpaper to IL-2 setup.. nice eh?

And another

Probably noticed I havn't put any name or squad on it, reason is thats the easy part and if anybody wants one then we can change that to suit personal needs etc etc

Prolly be some more later, having much fun making noseart and surfing for pics

Brings up a good point, why was noseart always risque but never pornagraphic - was done by men wasn't it? my first thought was that if you crash landed in a enemy village the small children would be traumatized by such artwork.. or Sgt Major was a prude or something..

Either way I have no idea - was there like rules for noseart?

Hey Falc,

Working on a anime set, so if you can wait I'll send you a job lot later today - you can put the extras over the top - currently working on some new wheels....

Not sure if I like the yellow or the more authentic silvery colour, neither are perfected to a high standard yet... also remember nobody ever zooms in that close as a rule to see every pixel imperfection!
