Too expensive for me mate, and I personally feel this is taking online gaming in the wrong direction (though many other companies have similar $$ schemes in the works 
).
Rented servers only exist because they are ranked - i.e., promotions, medals and ribbons. Plus they keep your stats. And I'm completely guilty of loving all this too. However, as a WW2 history buff the first decent WW2 BF2 mod that is release will see me off the rank servers rather quickly.
I say if we (whoever "we" are) do anything, let's enjoy a WW2 BF2 unranked server. If need be we can keep our own stats. Keep the money Dutch and buy some more games my friend, preferrably for ME.
