My old buddy..

Post by :FI:WillieOFS » Tue Oct 11, 2005 4:47 am

a better friend I never had.
Image

Got him 15 years ago.

He went home after a long fight with cancer. I sure miss the old fart. Even though he was deaf and pretty much blind from cataracts, he still had a sense of humor. He always liked to mess with my slippers. I've had those old slippers as long as I've had him. He thought they were his too and he grudgingly shared 'em with me.

We travelled all the lower 48 together in the mid 90's. He protected me and the truck with no questions asked. Scared the shit of more than one trooper and lot of truckstop whores that would jump on the running boards to see if you wanted a "date". They usually shit their pants when he bounced off the window in front of their face, and then they found some place else to ply their trade. My old truck had scratches in the window glass from his teeth..

I have had "red heelers" for over 20 years. The first 3 didn't get to live very long due to one reason or another. Each was a better dog than their predecessor. He was the best.

The place is damn quiet without him aggravatin the cats these days.

RIP ROUNDER.

I'm so sorry Willie.

I lost Nicki T. Ferret and S'mantha last year and still sorely miss my smallest members of the family. He sure looks like he was a good dog. I bet he has some shoes just as nice to play with where he is now.

Here's to your good buddy.

Sorry to hear about your loss Willie.

My grandparent's dog died a few years back and I was quite shocked at how sad it made me feel as I'm not a big animal lover.I grew up with him from as far back as I remember and towards the end he was pretty ill too so as much as I was really sad when he did die , it was also a bit of a relief as I knew he'd gone to a better place.
