Dressed up and ready to go!

Post by Kitty » Mon Aug 08, 2005 2:25 pm

Since we're using the German Front mod, I feel comfy to share some of my re-enactment pictures taken during a weekend out with the boys. They were awesome guys, and those out in the woods high on the mountains were the best weekends ever.

This was during my 2 year trip in the US. Most weekends we were out in the Rocky Mountains. Up to this day I still miss it, but back in the Netherlands there was just no way to get started with it. Very strict gun laws make a near real experience impossible. Sure I didn't shoot live ammo, but even with just blancs it sure adds to the suspension!

We re-enacted the brave men from the 5th Gebirgjägers. The entire weekend I simply spoke Dutch and they all agreed, that was authentic enough :p Long hair is a pain, I think I lost half a dozen hairpins and equal broken nails. Tho in the pics you can't quite tell :) Also, instead of Fran, or Cisca, or Francisca, they called me Francis, a german soldier of french origin lol (well some of these guys are really nitpicking and everything has to fit. My CO had a flaming discussion to get me in, but all was cool when I said, just treat me like one of the guys. And during my adventures I've been 'just one of the guys'.

If I ever get rich I probably buy a uniform again. Unfortunately I had to leave mine back in the states :( I did smuggle some patches with me (the edelweis and the eagle).

Shame we can't have fakes either, air soft looks so cool! oh well ... it happens.

Up the mounties!

Very weird :(

Maybe some have problems with ext. ascii? not sure if jaegers would solve the problem, instead of writing jägers. *shrug*

I'll rename them tomorow. Right now Im heading for bed, running a 39 fever ugh.

So we can safely assume your TRANsition was successful?

You just need to accessorize a bit.

And how does Eileen feel about you wanting to borrow her "stuff"?

Actually I think I'll use that pic as an avatar on some of the new forums I post ;)

I'm also in the process of renaming the pics so hopefully they will be visibles soon (they're not now, because I already started renaming and have yet to edit my post)

ok pics have been edited and updated. hopefully they now work for everyone. If not then I have no idea what I have been doing wrong *shrug* let me know, please.
