F4U Campaign movie

Post by :FI:Genosse » Thu Jan 06, 2005 3:28 pm

Folks!

Today I´ve managed to survive my 10th F4U Iwo campaign mission and to bring my plane down properly! \:D/ =D]

"Nothing special!", you think? Naw, not at all ... [-X

Those chaps amongst you you´ve already flown this campaign maybe can recall the mission where about 50 enemy planes attacked your own carrier fleet ... lots of furballs and unfortunately lots of AAA actions also that had a pretty bad effect on my framerate ... I´m still sure that I could see some smoke coming out of my PC ... the review of the recording I made revealed that I also shot down one of my own planes!!!!

In the end I was quite happy to land in one piece ... :p ;)

wow Genosse!

That's where I am now.

I survived Midway and Wake Island*

and all of the Guadalcanal missions in my trusty wildcat

and I think I'm on the 3rd or 4th Iwo mission in an F4u

finally!

I'm looking forward to the attack you mentioned.

thanks for the clip and the warning!

Good show Gen! \:D/

I'm enjoying the same campaign - I think. :-k Mine is the RN campaign and the default plane is the Seafire (though I have selected the Seafire, Wildcat, Corsair and Hellcat). Still attacking Iwo Jima. Maybe your campaign is USN?

Anyway I have noticed improvements since the 3.03 patch. Even some new missions types like bombing now in the Seafire.

With regards to flak, did you use the new conf.ini parameter to reduce the flak guns? And if so, did you notice an improvement? My fps certainly have improved when the enemy tries to attack my carriers. Before they really took a hit.

The Seafire still seems too strong for the Zero. But I like an unfair fight. My best sortie (played about 5 now in my new campaign) so far was a 3 confirmed kill with 1 stolen kill (stupid friendly AI :D ) mission.

Enjoy your campaign mate!

Regards,
TactS!

Are the flight distances shorter guys? Or were they always near your targets/islands anyway?

80% of the missions are nice and short

the Midway missions were the longest

but the warp key worked great for me

the 'canal missions were nice and short

Henderson Field to the western edge of the island were the longest

the Iwo missions are a wee bit longer,

but in no way too long.

good times!

4 kills?

one mission?!

cool!

I've flown three misions where I shot down three ac though.

I forgot the numbers,

but in about 37 missions

I have about 37 kills

been shot down about 10-12 times

killed twice

maybe three times.

...

so, I guess I'm ... dead?
