Squad numbers and correct markings

Post by :FI:Genosse » Tue Jan 06, 2004 12:29 pm

Folks!

As you may know or not know I always try to record our sessions by using FB´s Online Recording Tool (ORT). Thinking about watching the last session I had some serious troubles to recognize the single pilots by their squad numbers and/or national markings. I´d like to recommend you to use at least your proper squad number for your easy identifying, please!

If you don´t know how to type in your sqaud number then have a look onto following picture ...

Thank you, folks! :)

cool.

thanks for the info - will do next time.
Normally Spiny Norman was wont to be about
twelve feet from snout to tail, but when Dinsdale was depressed Norman could be
anything up to eight hundred yards long.

 I NEVER KNEW!!!

Thank You O' Wise and ALL KNOWING ONE!!

WHere in the game do we place the squad marking insignia? I seem to recall a discussion with that info. Alas, in all the all the hustle and bustle of the last couple of months in my life I've forgotten.

I'm so embarassed... can I blame Falcon or maybe Helo??

I think that I've already installed them so I'll go hunting and see if I can find them. 8)

Thanks for the reminder. I usually fly with No. 97 even in non-squad games at HyperLobby.

Question - I like flying with the FI crest on my planes, but in order to "grab" the graphic out of the regiment directory I must NOT choose a Country. Unfortunately, most servers (and rightly so) want folks to fly with their Country markings.

Outside of the actual skin-embedded crest option, is there a way to have both the Country and FI regiment crest displayed on planes?

Please download the squad´s crest/insignia/seal from our "Dowloads/Design" section, extract them, read the "Readme.txt" and put them into your X:\UbiSoft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\PaintSchemes\Regiments folder. After that you´re free to choose the squad´s insignia for many countries ...

Have a look here, please!

In case someone's as slow as me, there are several crests to download and place in your regiment directory. I initially only downloaded the "no country" one. Hence it only worked when I selected no country - go figure!

Schweetness, done it is.

As of late I've been using #62 for my flights anyway, so that's no problem

markings

Post by :FI:Dutchman » Thu Jan 08, 2004 8:50 am

Hi G.

An other question

will the stats on the vow and VEF sites only be udated if I choose The russian, USA or UK side and what will happen if i choose none in the country slot of FB.

if i choose none, then my number 96 will not be showed at the side of my plane .

but if i choose a country e.g. russia then The marks of my fis planes wil be overwritten thats ugly.

is there something i do not know or do i have to use NM/blank planes.

thanx in advance
