CoD Team Fusion Update Woes

Post by :FI:Noter » Thu Apr 17, 2014 11:45 pm

I am trying to update to the latest version for the Team Fusion mods. I've gotten to version 3 and working up to 4.3. I've d/l'd the two zip files probably seven times now with no luck. I've read that you need 7-Zip to unzip, I did that and no luck. I do notice with the 7-Zip that when I go to unzip it I get what looks like a small DOS code window that opens up and disappears very quickly, but nothing unzips. I've also done the the thing where you d/l both files put in one folder and unzip from there and still no luck. Really getting frustrated with this.

Here is where I am d/l'ing the files.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

UAC on? turn it off
Have you tried to unzip other zips with 7zip?
Check that you're running 7ZIP File manager and not "Command line version" ( i have a distant memory of this being an issue on my old rig.)

go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations
and set .7z to C:\Program Files (x86)\7-Zip\7zFM.exe (32bit)
or C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe for 64 bit

go to http://www.7-zip.org/

Check that you have v9.20 (32 or 64 bit version as appropriate)

It sounds like you are using the wrong 7zip app. Try what Sneaky suggests.
We'll be on TS this evening if you want to try a talk-through. It would be great if you could join us for a little ClOD flying.

Glad to hear you're about to jump in Matthew!
I've family visiting from San Diego, but I'll try to jump on TS tonight and walk you through a few basics.
You're on Eastern time, right? So we'll need to coordinate for the optimal time, if I make it.

Check your PMs for my cell #.

Success, not sure what was different, but reinstalled 7-Zip, d/l'd the files again and it worked this time. So I am now up to 4.321 or whatever the latest version is. Now I have to go in and program the stick and figure out how to start the planes all over again, but those are good things.

Thanks for all the help guys, appreciate it.

Make sure you map the various radiator controls in easy to remember places :?

You'll spend more time fiddling with them than anything else

Matthew, glad to hear you got it sorted!
Tim and I tested another Dynamo mission last night, and once he adds a proper amount of boats/ships and throws in a few BF-110's it should be a good one. I should be on Friday, though Tim won't make it.

I'm going to work up a proper Check List each for the Spit, Hurri Rotol 100 Octane, and the DH-50 to make it a bit easier to take off without blowing up the engine. I'll post them separately as they're completed.
Haven't messed with the others or the Axis stuff yet, but I'll take on those, too, as I get them sorted.
