I've had spigot install by stealth several times now. It would seem that it comes along with Yahoo search engine or Chrome.
It was giving popups on FI site and other forums.
I've uninstalled those now and deleted the Spigot folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files.
No more popups now
also searched registry for "spigot" and removed key
