Lost partition

Lost my W7 partition after a routine reboot.
20 hours in and running some tests from Ultimate Boot disc.
4 more hours and back on stream

..but not quite ... more crashes! Fair to say the HD is truly clusterphqd and each restore attempt just degraded it more.

is it hd or sd?
If sd some of the recent windows updates are incompatible with the sd firemware. There are loads of firmware patches available.
As you have a new rig did you try and mount the driver via usb once booted on the new rig ? you may be able to access the driver and get some data off.
