Gents, I have the server IP and password now, but am unable to connect to it via "remote desktop connection", anyone have any suggestions?
Stuff I've tried - pinging the server - no joy
Firewall settings are set for remote access
router is set up as well.

Did they confirm that it would be RDP used to connect? (I'd check this as lots of other web based stuff available.) RDP not the best for displaying high end graphics etc.)
If using RDP, what happens when you put in the server IP, what error?
Fairly normal that you can't ping the server this has probably been disabled to prevent someone bringing down the server by pinging it to death.
I'll be on later, ill pop down and see if your still having the issue. My first port of call would be the server support FAQ's. I'f this is happening to u, sure as sh!te someone else's had this issue either using the same provider or another.
