That bloody hsfx 5.0!!

Post by :FI:Pike » Sun Mar 20, 2011 10:44 am

Dear All,
Had yet another problem when I tried to download and install HSFX 5.0. I have ended up having reinstall everything. I have got to the point of trying to get 4.101 into the jagsme folder to get the new official patch working but it does not seem to. Could you send me the link so I can just download again and drop it into the JAGSME folder. I also find that I can no longer put new aircraft into the created mods folder despite adding all the info to the relevent STD folders.

Here's the rub - HSFX 5.0 creates a new JSGME folder, so you would have needed to backup the old one + any mods and Files folders.

From a normal HSFX 4 you can put stock 4.10 - and stock 4.10.1 into JSGME
disable all mods
add 4.10
then add 4.10.1

4.10.1 uses different class files so some older mod planes may not work.

I've used a separate install for HSFX 5.0, and kept HSFX 4 with the options for stock 4.09 & 4.10/4.10.1

Yep 2.2.1 when I try it brings up what looks like the code for the link but nothing else.

Do this. Start with a clean unmodded install of 4.10m. Install the official patch to bring this up to 4.101m. Copy all this to a safe place to use as a back up in case (after making sure it runs).
Download the HSFX 5.0 and install it. There is no reason to be doing anything at all with JSGME before this. After you have all this installed activate HSFX using JSGME and make sure it's working.
Then you can start testing other mods with it.

The HSFX 5 is fine. It works like a charm.

The only bug I encountered was loading the Bf-109 B1.
It explodes when the mission starts.

Everything else, selfrunner.
I still don't know how I ever get the things running, instantly.

There should be a bug fix patch real soon for small things- They are taking bug reports at the 242 Squadron site.
