Problem with 1:1 and canons map.....HELP!!!

Post by :FI:Pike » Wed Jun 09, 2010 10:32 am

Dear All,
I riied to install the new 1:1 Bob map and then found that it had overwritten Canon's map and did not work anyway. But now......is it possible to get canons map back into HSFX? ie, if I just run the installer and point it at the HSFX /IL-2 folder will it just reinstall or will I have to do something else??
regards,
Pike.

open JSGME , switch back to vanilla, then switch to HSFX and test to see if still the same.

Dear Sneaky,
You saved me yet again.....the map mods do not show up in 4.09 only!
The 1:1 map went into the files folder. I added what I thought was the ini command into the all ini file and now I get "Section [Map2D]not found in 'maps/352nd_cross_channel/load.ini" at the bottom of the FMB screen. I know I am close as I have had this message before. Please advise.
regards,
Pike.

Murph should know what to do with this, I looked at the files ,and was going to do a manual install as people were reporting some problems saving.

I never got round to it, so cant say for sure. There was an update on one of the files, though link I had was via AAA.

If you are having problems saving with this map, make sure you don't have the mod, "00_objects_visibility" either in you mods folder, or enabled in JSGME.
Pike I sent you a PM reply on this, I hope it helps you- let me know.
I think that if you have a folder called "Mapmods" in your mods folder, you have to make sure the map is installed there as well as in the "Files/Maps" folder, which is where the installer puts it.
The game needs to have the same information in the map all.ini files in both locations ("Files/Maps" and "Mods/Mapmods/Maps") even if it isn't listed in the same order.
Clear as mud?
P.S. Are you quite sure it overwrote the Cannon maps? I have both showing in FMB. I can't think of a reason why/how it would do this, since they use different names and load.inis.
The map shows as "352nd_Cross_Channel" on the list in FMB.

Pike, I'm curious, did any of this work? I helped McBiggles get the 352nd map up and running last night and in the course of doing so found another potential glitch; The 352nd map installer does not add the lines needed to the map all.ini file correctly! For some reason it tagged the line on behind that of another map's "load.ini line" of text. Mike needed to cut and paste the line to it's own place in the all.ini. It should come out looking something like this;
[all]
1940_1941_Channel CAN_EnglishChannel/1940load.ini
1942_1945_Channel CAN_EnglishChannel/1943load.ini
2B_FlightTest 2B_FlightTest/load.ini
352nd_Cross_Channel 352nd_Cross_Channel/load.ini
3BG_KTO 3BG_KTO/load.ini
3BG_KTO_Winter 3BG_KTO_Winter/load.ini
ag_Cartagena ag_Cartagena/load.ini
etc....

The 352nd auto-installer attached the line "352nd_Cross_Channel 352nd_Cross_Channel/load.ini" to the end of "3BG_KTO 3BG_KTO/load.ini" , all we had to do was move it to it's own line and the map worked perfectly.
