Sorry guys, I'm up with my in laws tonight and I won't be back in time to fly.

Gutted :(

Have a good one!

excellant misisons on Sunday night.

Think Allies need to practice those carrier t/o !

nice when we all meet on the second mission

but we wasted a lot of time with restarts.

Bit of a debate on the recordings thread on these missions.

Think the conclusion is that the carriers need to be travelling faster (60kph was mentioned although when I tried that, the maximum for some seems to be 56kph?) than they were on Sunday (40kph). In addition from next week (bar the first mission) the red team will have a mix of land and sea based aircraft.

Hope to introduce a kamikaze mission next week as well (although only a small number of kamikaze seats will be available).

It's not a debate Neil. It's just a ... discussion. Reasonable folk share reasonable points of view and after a constructive discourse, we all agree with me.

I've checked with Mission4Today and what's left of the UBI mission building forum on this subject. What little I've garnered over a short time: nothing specific about wind speeds yet, use a wee bit of right trim, trim "3/4 up" and ... here's the tricky part ... either start with t/o flaps and half way into the roll lower full flaps or start with no flaps and slam in full flaps just before t/o.

There was mention of how difficult the Corsair in particular is in a carrier take off with any sort of load.

More to come, I hope.

3 missions ready for tonight - mind you getting 3 in the time available (+ 10 restarts) may give us a problem

First mission is carrier take offs for red, second is ground and carrier, third is carrier only (but no bombs for red). Carriers are at max speed - 56kph for red - so takeoff should be easier than last week

Hope we get lots of people turning up.

Cya later

Are we flying 4.09 tonight?

Don't know - I had assumed 4.08 but if we are all patched up to the new version then we could use 4.09m...........

Missions don't use any objects in 4.09m so why change this week?

I guess it's down to the host.

Good stuff there.

Guess I am going to have to put my money where my mouth is and fly red of a carrier next Sunday................ :D

Enjoyed last nights session - and three missions done with only a couple of restarts neither of which were down to pilot error - outstanding improvement guys =D]

last night was fun.

Once question though blue seems to be arriving just as red finish up there attacks.

are we flying to slow or is the flight too long?

should we be there before red arrive?

Thats a tough question. I try and ensure there is a bit of interest for all participants in the mission, which gets difficult if we are flying red v blue (as opposed to versus the AI). If the blue fighters always intercept the bombers before they get to the target that gets very discouraging for the bomber guys (had it happen to me too often  ). It's hard to strike the balance but hopefully both sides get something from all the missions in an evening - even if you bite the dust early in one, you get a better time in the next.
