What will you do with YOUR stimulus check?

Post by :FI:Falcon » Tue Jul 08, 2008 5:18 am

Oh my flippin' Dawg!

Eileen, me dear, dear wiff, wants to buy a PS3. Instead of divorcing her immediately I thought I'd seek solace from you mates first. She SAYS it's because the piece of cra ... erm, I mean the console has BlueRay and will run the new DVD's at the same cost as buying a new BlueRay player, but I think it's cuz she's a driving sim nut.

I'd like to know if I stop arguing with her and let her go ahead and get it ... will the world end?

She's even intrigued by the MetalGear:Solid 4 game that comes with it.

Well ... those of you who are console deficient, is the 80 gig worth it? Is the new PS3, (that came out late last month), worth the price? Do you ground pounders play with anyone who uses the PS3 in CoD?

So much for the great plans I had for new wainscoting ...

Thanks,

F

Just repeat the following:

may the power of Christ command you...

over and over again. I saw it work on a film once. Sort of.

Now guys I'm still here. :D

Always trolling just not saying too much (amazing, no?!).

Actually there are several Squad mates enjoying next gen consoles. I go by the handle TacticalS360 and Noter is known strangely as NOT3R. Mind you this is in Billy's Xbox Live world, and home of the now de-throne HD DVD player add-on. :(

Since BluRay has won I think the misses is making lots of sense. Did I say that? Yes, a wife can apparently make sense, at least once in her life. Well twice since they agree to marry us. Given the price you will be getting an affordable BluRay player, 80GB hard drive to store audio/video files, plus of course any gaming there that you might want to mess around with. Hey, the consoles do a great job with games like Oblivion. Fable 2 is coming. If you have a HDTV (or not) with a home theatre it is really enjoyable. Civ is coming too!

I, of course, would try to argue for the better online experience of the Xbox, but the PS3 makes a lot of sense now that BluRay and its library is finally growing a bit. The writing on the wall says the Xbox won this round, mind you I think the PS2 is STILL outselling the next gen consoles. Btw Fernando (Snoop) plays that silly Wii thing. But why? It just seems to get people moving about. All that exercise can't be good, can it?

Let us know how the PS3 works out if you get it. Some pics would be nice.

Regards,
Mark

Isn't the next console after PS3 and 360 the Next Gen Console? I though that both Xbox and PS3 have been around for bout 2 years....so they are old, dated, even vintage;)

Gentlemen*,

Thanks Dan. I had forgotten about the headset. So far ... she gets the toy game player and I get a new headset , The Witcher and some quiet.
I'm still shopping for a good set though guys. Dan's sounds great, but I NEED an in-line mute switch ... if only for Rabitski's benefit alone. Any other
good one's out there?

~~~
Yeah, Gadje's right. It ain't that bad. I just like pizzin' Tac off an' stuff ... besides, consoles are evil. Now ... where did I put that holy water?
~~~

There's Tac! I KNEW I could draw 'im out boys! SHOOT! ;)

~~~
I don't know the history of consoles, but the NEWandIMPROVED model came out the last week on June. I think is comes with pin-striping and curb feelers.
Thanks all,
F
Stu,
Thank you for excluding me from the "Gentleman" class. :D
Mark,
Odd choice of words...
I think the misses is making lots of sense.
Correctly presented, one would say "I think the misses are making lots of sense.", though the context wouldn't make sense.
...now if you had said "missus"...
Glad to see you're still trolling, Mark! :wink2:
Oh my - I type one bloody wrong letter (i.e., missEs instead of missUs) and Dan is all over me (in a manner of speaking Falcon [-X ).
Yes, I miss (no pun intended) you guys too. Glad to see H.E. still up and running. Been trolling some forums lately about BOB. Not a whole lot being released. Typical Oleg. :lol:
Very best regards,
Mark
