The file folders are ready to be filled with blank/default skins now in Gurb's FTP space.

Remember, we only need one skin per folder.

If you find a skin already in a particular folder, don't worry. Go ahead and upload yours. We'll sort out duplicates later.

Please use naming protocol:

aircraft make(as written in red in previous post)_paint scheme_pilot number(all blank this time).

A20G_IrGr_00

Yak-7_FIMt_00

Anyone needing the address, login name and password please PM or E-mail me at ifalkon (at) aol.com.

Questions?

PS: Oh, the login name and password at Gurb's, not mime! ;)

Maybe you should add a skinner ID at the end of filename, otherwise latest upload will overwrite any duplicate using same name.(This can be left off the final version filename)

Of course!

Good thunkin' Andrew.

How about an artist code with a number designator?

Ex: an A20 with a second IrGn design from me ...

A20G_IrGr_00_Fcn2,

Fcn = Falcon

Ex: an IrGn A20 from Snaphoo to add,

A20G_IrGr_00_Spo

Spo, or whatever = Snaphoo.

After talking to several of the skinners I found that there is some confusion between the major types of skins.

Here's my thunks:

BLANK: No rounds, numbers, names; used for putting other country markings and numbers on from the game resource.

Designated - ac type_paint scheme_BL_author (EDIT)

FI Default: FI rounds only; used for guests, less active FI pilots, new members w/o personal skins yet.

Designated - ac type_paint scheme_00_author

FI Personal - FI rounds, numbers, names; used for active pilots.

Designated - ac type_paint scheme_33*_author

FI Customized - Personal skins that have been further modified at the request of the owning pilot.

Designated - ac type_paint scheme_33C_author

How does this sound?

~~~
Now, I have finished all my FI Default skins and uploaded them. Yes, Gurb, I'll .rar the individual skins soon.
I am currently working on the Personal skins.
I hadn't planned to do any BLANK skins, but the idea should be put before you. Sounds like a good idea, maybe after we finish the Personal skins?
After all this work is done ... and it works ... then I think we can intertain requests for Custom skins from members for nose/tail art, etc. Each new skin will be added to the data base periodically as a single new version. (Ex: every month, season, decade).
Thunks?
Sounds great!
For the blanks, what about this for a naming convention:
ac type_paint scheme_BL_author
And after we get done with the personalized stuff would be an exccellent time to do the blank ones.
The other stuff, customized etc, looks good to me...
^:)
