Clatter is right :)

The pushrods make a racket - even with the valve clearances set correctly :)

I gotta gree though.... twist and go has a LOT of advantages....

I've been looking at a Kawa KLE 500 (you can't get them in the States - but it's the wee brother of the KLR650. Cheap, cheerful, and able for most of what you want to throw at it :)

Around $6,000 USD new...

Yeah, I know Harley's are the thing ...

but I need to come out of the closet ...

or garage I s'pose ...

I love rice burners.

There, I said it ...

I owned a Yamaha 750 Seca for years and enjoyed every minute of it.

Here's one just like it ...

'Saki's and Yamahas make me all wet.

I feel better now,

nothing wrong with the rice burners, Falc. they generally cost less, run just as good, and most often look as good or in some cases better....

okay, their names don't generally sound as cool... but hey, so what?

no disrespect to the big Harley riders... sure, super bikes... but, i've got a friend that spent some MAJOR bucks on a new Harley. i'm talking MAJOR bucks. i laugh all the way to the bank when i think about how much i spent on my lil' Honda Aero which is a super bike in its own right and rides like a dream. to each his own, and for me, the Aero is exactly what i wanted and at a price i NEEDED to spend. nope, nothing wrong with you likeing rice burners.
