Dutch, here is the error message that I've been getting lately when attempting to join the Irish server. I'm thinking there is a patch or update that I haven't gotten since the last time I was on. Hopefully you can make some sense of this:

Strange thing ...

Post by :FI:Genosse » Mon Jun 06, 2005 6:04 am

... that is! ;)

In most cases it´s a downloaded .pk3 file that´s causing the troubles. I´ve never heard of the map called "mp_DEUTSCHER_FLUGHAFEN_UO" before ... so I´d suggest to get rid of this map first. If that shouldn´t work delete the "mp_brecourt_winter" map as well ... maybe it´s corrupted, too.

The worst case would be to un- and reinstall the whole program again, Z!

Hope I was able to help ye!

Well, the problem definitely lays with the GFM thingy. I uninstalled and reinstalled and got the same problem.

:(

BTW, what´s that file "gfm/zz_gfm_beta_v895.pk3" about?

:-k

Aha! It came with the new GFM mappack. Check your files in the GFM folder, Z! If it´s not there like the other new maps then you should put it into it ...

Let´s see if this will work! :-s

*Edit*

I tried to reproduce this error by moving this file out of my gfm folder and I got the same error message. So assure yourself that the zz_gfm_beta_v895.pk3 is in your gfm folder, Z!

Hi zeke, Genosse,

well first of all thanks Gen. for picking this up.

Zeke you have no luck to start off with the platoon.

but if you just install the first GFM patch 0.9 and then the GFM patch 1.0.
look here

After that copy the files from the mappack into the:
"C:\program files\Call of duty game of the year edition\gfm" folder, that it should work as it does for all of us.

well try that and let us know how you're doing.

The file is in the correct GFM folder, Gen. I even DL'd the map pack and put it in there fresh, no luck. What I don't understand is that the problem seems to lay in that sound file. Where the hell is it? Is it an embedded file that came with the pk3 file?

Dutch, you're suggesting for me to uninstall the GFM 1.0 patch, install the .9 patch, then reinstall the 1.0 and redo the maps?

Well it appears that everything is working fine now. Installing the V.9 must have been the right move, the file was huge! I have all new splash screens now, new selections for team positions, etc., that I did not have before. Will be checking the server periodically today to test everything out!
