Time for the Next :FI: Online Campaign?
Hello mates!
I will soon be resuming some online gaming, and would like to continue enjoying an online campaign if there is sufficient interest. Having said that I don't want to interfere with any other campaigns that may still be going on. Is napier or Snoop still hosting Kursk or Normandy?
I think there was a good core group of :FI: mates able to play during the week. Ideally, I would like to play some campaign missions each Friday evening. However, if there is not enough interest, and with Snoop's permission, the campaign could be enjoyed during the first half of Wednesday's Training Session.
At this point I am only interested in hosting one campaign on one night. If held on Wednesday, say 2-3 missions from 10:00-11:00 p.m. Atlantic Time Zone (-4 GMT). If on Fridays, 10:00 p.m. until midnight+.
Friday is probably my best gaming evening of the week, and could offer the possibility of both IL-2 flying and some CoD afterwards (for those interested).
Anyway, will be testing the Ardennes '44 campaign shortly (napier had previously expressed an interest). DCG also offers a '45 version of this campaign as well. I would edit DCG squadrons to better reflect the historical planes found in this conflict. I am also open to any other campaign suggestions and your general thoughts.
Please post in this thread if you are still interested, what night and any suggestions/improvements. Napier are you still willing to maintain a campaign website for our stats mate?
Regards,
TactS!
P.S. I would prefer no icons even if this was on Wednesday - comments please.

So sad that we are both available on Friday evenings, eh Helo?

Was really enjoying our previous campaigns. Learned a lot about DCG and hosting that I hope will make the new campaign even more enjoyable.
One nice aspect of DCG is the ability to pick and choose your assignment each mission. As Snoop pointed out, you want a guaranteed DF take a look at both sides' flight paths.
Loved the fact we could all stay together, or some could go off and groundpound, while others even jump over to the other side.
Then there was dear Keppoch and his misfortunes with those German scout planes.
With the upcoming AI improvements these campaigns (and online wars) should be even more enjoyable.

You are certainly welcome to participate mate! Not sure when it will get underway. I believe in about a week or two (that's in Canadian terms not Oleg's 2 weeks ).
Unless Napier would like to make a webpage, I need to design one plus test out a number of DCG/campaign options.
-----------------
FYI - My present thought concerning campaigns is somewhat different from last time.
Firstly, instead of concentrating on one specific campaign, like we did with Kursk, I would like to have 2-3 sessions (that's between 4-9 missions total), then automatically move onto a new campaign. Of course if folks really enjoy a particular campaign we can either stay with it a bit longer or come back to it at a later date.
In addition to rotating campaigns, I would also like to explore the various theatres (Eastern, Western, Pacific and possibly Mediterranean), as well as early, middle and late war periods.
I am presently exploring certain options within DCG that may finally guarantee awesome dogfights each and every time. My hope is to provide in each mission a four squadron dogfight featuring the most common fighter planes for that conflict, in addition to other squads involved in level bombing, ground pounding, and different fighter escort/intercept duties.
-----
Anyway, hoping to have things come together in a week or so. Until then, folks interested please drop me a line. Unless I hear from you Napier, I think the webpage will be designed in a manner with only one main table of stats that will be updated as we move through the campaigns (provided there remains sufficient interest).
