When you get to the SBD Personal skins,

are the SBD3 and 5 much different from each other to where we need a full set of each?

We need to keep the number of Personal skins to a minimum.

The P-51b, c, and D, for example, are just different enough (in cockpit area) to need a seperate set of Personal skins each.

I have no experience w/SBD templates.

Thx,

F

I will take a look at it, and make sure. The template makes a distinction between -3 and -5, but I don't know off the top of my head what those differences are.

SBD 3 and 5 go in different folders in IL2, so i guess it's just a case of switching the template layers for type. (I take it thats the Jesters template Snaph)

Maybe. Probably. I am at the jobsite at the moment and don't have my templates (or the one's I've downloaded) memorized.
Me too but I'll compile the credits, you know - the usual suspects - Jesters - Sea Norris - Snorri - Serval . . etc . ^:)

I think Falcon was trying to see if the -5 could be used for the -3, or vice versa, which I will look into once I get home. Though you are right, it's a matter of switching layers. Good call Sneak...

P.S. Hey Falcon, is there a folder for the J8A/Gladiator? I can't seem to locate that one to upload the default skin. Thanks.

The J8A/Gladiator has always confused me. I guess my mind just blanked it out when I was making the lists.

As far as the game is concerned, what is it? Allied? Axis? Swedish? Finnish? Russian? German? Latvian? Iraqi?

Gah!

Okay, in which folder do you want to put it? VVS? RAF?

Yeah ...

I s'pose the only true place to put it is in the RAF thing.

If I don't fix it tonight,

remind me.

Thx,

That is the oddest things about this plane, because if you look in the folders, there are two folders for the Gladiator (MkI and MkII I believe) but in game, I can only ever find the J8A and that's down with the Axis planes. So in short....

I dunno.... :-s

J8A and that's down with the Axis planes. So in short....
Thats just in the Axis/Allied planes menu - not Skins folder.

In QMB you can select any non AI aircraft to fly red or blue

In FMB you can specify any non AI for player in mission.

Of the Gladitor Mkl,Mkll and J8A versions only the J8A is flyable.

(too confusing- call it a workaround)

Post by :FI:Snaphoo » Thu Oct 12, 2006 2:38 am

SBD-3 and -5 Personalized skins are completed and uploaded (all-in-wonder skin)
I've also finished the Buffalo/B-239 personalized skins

SBD skin has changed from when the original "default" skin was uploaded. Anyone who might've downloaded the original -3 and -5 separate skins will need to download the latest, to be current.
