Yes it was, and still is...for a price.
I cancelled my account because they first asked for a $.99/month fee to eliminate the constant pop-ups if you had an account. I figured ok, so put up the annual fee to be a bit less annoyed.
But this BS about paying a RIDICULOUS amount to be able to post MY images (linked) in other sites is tantamount to extortion of subscribers who didn't (like me) keep the originals on their hard drive.
Death warrant? I certainly hope so! F*ckers!

I've heard good things about some other sites. If I feel the need to link any images I'll check them out AND read the EULA/Fine Print/User's Agreement before deciding. :x

400$ you say...
you could have domain, hosting, have somebody make you the basic website (likely created with some templates, but anyway), pay google to show your website higher in the list, and still have few scraps for beer, or some vintage, but interesting lenses if you must.

I've been the route with my own server.
Nothing bad to say about it, but shutting it down just put more money back in my wallet.
Maybe later.

Found a decent site. No fees, and once you log in no BS, pop-ups, etc.

www.imgur.com

It doesn't seem to have the flexibility of Photofu*kit.
I haven't been able to make Sub-Albums, though individual pics can be uploaded/linked to third party apps.
[Correction] Has an included app for editing images. Pretty basic, but workable. [End Correction]
Upside is that I DID have all the PB images saved on a thumb drive. :D
