Wanted: Armitage

Post by Nephris » Sun Feb 01, 2015 6:16 pm

Hi folks,
hope everything is fine.
Is your Irish man Armitage still alive & kickin and around here?

I died several times trying to get the great stats script working ,he wrote for our Online sessions, which are already more than 14 months ago, and which we really enjoyed.

However I am just too stupid in Sql things and hope he can give me a hand, as we could use it quiet well.

So I hope Armitage is still around then and there and we can make a date for setting up the script together :?:

Hi m8,
great to read form you, thx.
Well I tried several times to get the Mysql stuff installed and the databases and so the script running.
The problem is I am receiving error messages and tbh I just dont know what I actually do, as I ve no clue in MySql.
I am able to install a database via MyphpAdmin but that is already the most far end I guess.

So I even dont get the tools running which are needed to run the script correctly.

Would it be possible to meet in TS an evening?
I guess the qiuckes way would be remote desktop access?

Is Win8 or Win7 fine enough to run the script and the tools?

I can meet you on TS.

but you need Microsoft SQL (Express will do ) not MySQL.

Any windows environment should work.

I will quit the session as the stats got higher priority atm ;) and join your TS at 8:30h GMT on thursday then.

Is there any pw on your TS?

Just did a quick teste via the TS Viewer on your website and it is asking for a password :(
vs25.tserverhq.com:6315

Just in case something will go wrong or you are checking this post lately, I add our TS adress aswell in which I would be
nephris.ddns.net

Catch later this evening , SQL Server 2014 (english) and IIS are installed so far.

Is it fine for you to work with Teamvieweras "on-klick-VPN" Remote Administration?
No need to install, as it works directly from the executeable.

edit: am in the Take off Shoes Channel of your TS, presented on your website ts viewer. Hope that is the correct one.

Hope you will still make it, but I switch back to our TS,

I got most of the stuff running, however it ends in error messages, when calling the default.aspx.
The databse is actually running...when I did everything correct. The LogParser did aswell its job.
But the big end comes at the stats web.

ASP was registered and installed. I added a user with access to ilsstats DB called "IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool", which fixed the Login failed for user 'IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool'. error.
However the war doesnt seem to be done by that...
Right now I receive
Could not find stored procedure 'RepHighLevelOverview'.

Code: Select all

[SqlException (0x80131904): Could not find stored procedure 'RepHighLevelOverview'.]
   System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection, Action`1 wrapCloseInAction) +388
   System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj, Boolean callerHasConnectionLock, Boolean asyncClose) +815
   System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.TryRun(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj, Boolean& dataReady) +4515
   System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.TryConsumeMetaData() +69
   System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_MetaData() +134

   System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior, String method) +288
   System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) +237
   IL2SWAUtilities.DataAccess.RunSP(String StoredProcedureName, String[] parameters, Object[] arguments) in C:\work\il2\IL2SWA.DataAccess\DataAccess.cs:37
   IL2SWA._default.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\work\il2\il2statsweb\default.aspx.cs:19
   System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +71
   System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +3178
The problem is I have not much clue of what I am doing besides granting permission etc.
I guess the error is a short fix, but in try&error it is quiet hard to hunt it down.

its most likely a permissions issue.

you need to give the default asp.net user execute permission on all of the sps in the db

grant execute on SPNAME to UserName

replacing SPName with the name of the sp and username with the default asp.net user name

This is from memory and I could be wrong.

I'll be on tonight
