Hi, Eamonn!

Since I'm going to get a new machine myself I've done a research on some components and found these parts being low priced but tough enough for the next maybe five years ...
  • AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, CPU
  • be quiet! Dark Rock 4, CPU cooler
  • MSI B450 Gaming Plus, Mainboard
  • Corsair DIMM 16GB DDR4-3000 Kit RAM
  • MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8G OC, Gfx card
  • be quiet! Pure Base 600, tower
  • be quiet! Pure Power 10 CM 500W, PSU
I'm going to use my old SSD, HDD, monitor and peripheral devices. I'm aware of the fact that this targeted system is not one of the strongest you could get for the money (with a little more readiness to assume risk I could get an AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and overclock it) but it seems to me that I'll be prepared for possible hardware changes in the future. And this setup will cost me something around 850€ (only?) ...

Frank on his neverending search :doubt:

P.S. The name of my dealer's site is www.alternate.de (German) or www.alternate.co.uk (English) ...

Can't say much about it. The comparison to the other following PC setups is difficult since there are not much information given about components like motherboard or RAM ...
:FI:Armitage wrote: Mon Nov 26, 2018 2:54 pm https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/guide/PRXsc ... ming-build
  • CPU: Intel - Core i5-9600K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
  • CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Motherboard: MSI - Z390-A PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
  • Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
  • Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
    Toshiba - P300 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • Video Card: MSI - GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB Video Card
  • Case: NZXT - H500 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
  • Power Supply: Corsair - TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
The price is about 1.407,91€ and this imho a fair priced PC configuration. I'd be careful with the liquid CPU cooler though. They need some maintenance after some years I've been told (liquid can get lumpy).

  • CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
  • CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
  • Motherboard: MSI - X470 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4
  • Memory: Team - Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
  • Storage: Crucial - P1 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
    Toshiba - P300 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • Video Card: Palit - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GamingPro OC Video Card
  • Case: Corsair - Crystal 570X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case
  • Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX
The price is about 1.803,80€ and imho a lot of money. But for an AMD Ryzen system it seems to be very well equipped and the PSU will certainly provide a sufficent power output fot the CPU and the Gfx card.
Isn't that the excellent Intel Gaming build offer from above?

I'm not of big help, am I? ;)
