A New Era?

Post by :FI:Murph » Fri Mar 07, 2014 5:58 am

This Friday March 7, marks a new start for Historic Encounters. I will be hosting the first Operation Dynamo mission for Cliffs of Dover version 4.0. Anyone with this game is welcome to join us.
Mission 1 will be a patrol of the Dunkirk beachhead from Manston. Players may choose either Spitfires or Hurricanes. Mission is DogFight style, so it willl be possible to respawn if you crash or are shot down. AI flights will include Spits, Hurris, Do17Zs and Bf110s. In ClOD dogfight mode it is possible also to jump into AI aircraft.
Myself, McBiggles and Helo will be flying. I hope some other FI members can make it. We'll start at (about) 7:30PM MST. There are lots of slots and you can join at any time. (One of the other advantages of DF over Co-Op mode).

Update:
Tim is working on a problem we encountered.
While the host can jump into any AI plane, guests cannot.
Still we had a blast, hanging in there for about 4.5 hours! :D
Maybe you missed it, but there's a whole new "Now", now. :?

Got the non-bombing bomber problem sorted! I have a possible solution to the switching planes problem, using the script that we tested in co-op mode. We'll give it a try next time we're online together.
Edit; Script has been tested, and it works, but putting a spawnable airbase on the blue side seems like a better solution, so that's what I'll be doing.

I've been unreachable by phone most of this week, but I will be on TS tonight. More high alt practice, and more Dynamo!

That was a great session.
We practiced using the Boost properly with the Hurri Rotol 100 Octane and climbed to well over 23000 with no problems. Just have to keep an eye on Oil and Coolant temps and good to go!

Discovered with proper management, the Hurri climbs like a scalded rat!
