Re: Bessarabia - Development
Enjoying the show Larry? One persons fairness is another persons bias; but there are a couple of things we could do to solve this. 1. Nephris et al have picked the planeset and weapons on the basis of fairness, and therefore should be equally happy to fly red(because things are fair). So we sw...

Re: Bessarabia - Development
Designing a campaign like this and trying to strike a balance is very difficult, and you have my sympathy Nephris. The problem from my point of view is that using the AJ cassette, apart from bridge attacks, has been the standard load out for us IL2 pilots since we joined the Moscow campaign. Denying...

Re: Bessarabia - Development
Or is it blue bias that red loses it's most effective ground attack weapon?
It is your campaign Nephris, so you get to choose, my choice not to take part if I don't like it

Re: Bessarabia - Development
Hmm
Castrated is the right word. As I fly the IL2 a lot, I think I will be giving this campaign a miss if it loses it's most effective weapons.........

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
Well I would be prepared to concede defeat on the Moscow map, although that is just my opinion, not the squadrons. Situation is pretty hopeless and it is only a matter of time, and not much fun for red now.
If Bessarabia is ready I would be happy to switch?

Re: Hello! :)
Wow, a blast from the past, welcome back :D Snoopy and Tacts not active these days, although Tacts haunts the forums occasionally  Get yourself patched up to 4.11.1 (there is a 4.12 patch but we are not using that yet) and also something called HSFX 6 which is a mod pack. We fly this on Sunday ...

Re: Top Gun gRiJ 2013
Rambo's still around - he was on our RoF for a while last week I think.
Had a problem with his computer for a while but now fixed I gather.
Thanks for the invite Toro. Not my cup of tea, but there are others who take part in this type of thing..............

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
I have now flown a few QMB missions on the Bessarabia map and I do foresee some issues with the textures, lack of features in the landscape etc. I'll have to mute Pike or I'll go mad with all the "where am I's!" and "who are you's!". Kuban would be good, but if Nephris wants to d...

Re: HSFX not working
Two separate installs for me, 4.11 with HSFX, and 4.12 totally separate with no HSFX. Never trusted those switchers.
I know it should work, but one false move and you're looking at a big problem............

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
OK Frank, I'll do my best. My thoughts: 1. Both sides need to be clear on winning conditions, what key areas and objectives are and so on. In the first few weeks of the Moscow map red were not clear on these and never recovered. Hopefully our experience with the first campaign will make us less naiv...

Re: The ongoing JG42 war
I tried writing a couple of dogfight missions using MDS a while ago, but could not get it to work very well. That may well have been an earlier version so it may be worth me revisiting it, must be at least 3 years ago. If not I certainly have plenty of DF missions in the archive we can dust off, or ...

Are we sticking with 4.11.1 and HSFX for the campaign? No 4.12 patch?
