Sapper,
Hey great. I was in the Air Force for twenty years, communications, navigational aids. My son's in the Marines, crypto maintenance. The last radio relay equipment i actually saw used tubes (valves).

Sapper,
Are you a communications troop? Looks like radio relay equipment.

Fen,
Geezzz, looks like what happened to my number three cylinder on my old VW Bettle, except i couldn't find the piston! Running lean on air cooled engines is a real bad thing. As expensive as gas is, its still cheaper than pistons and heads. Good luck with the repair.

Geeeez, Darwin Award candidates for sure. When i worked in the LORAN program in Korea we would take phorescent bulbs out to the base of the antenna. They would glow; you could actually get a few meters from the antenna and they'd still glow. 'Light Sabres"?

Geezzz, the leads not corroded, the paper around the bullet looks new, the box is in very good condition., brass looks new. How does something over a hundred years old look that good? Very interesting piece of history you got there.

Willie, I can't download the pics, but from the responces i believe you have 11.15x60R Mauser ammo for the M71 , M71/84 Mauser. Loose ammo is priced better than 6 USD each; couldn't guess what an intact original box would be. Its a great find. Its for probable the first Mauser bolt action rifle, loa...

Willie, Have you seen any of those new Mauser K98 (Serian? M48). I picked up two recently. Both in new/unissued condition with new bayonets and accessories. 300 bucks each. Real nice rifles, very accurate, rough kick. I reload, but i,m picking up 8mm 'GI issue' ammo cheaper than i can load it . Yeah...

Helo,
Later that day they were following more tracks, but got hit by the train.

We have a toy pomerian that hunts. She won't chase rabbits anymore; she had a bad experience with one; rabbits can be so vicious.

Willie, Good looking work. I keep all my old military bolt action rifles in pretty much original configuration. I have been known to clean up the stocks a little and cold blue metal. I have some mounted on my walls with the bayonets and ammo pouches. Next time Canada invades the US i'll be prepared!...

Yep, check for obstructions in the barrel. Thats why i keep the muzzle cover on my Swiss K31 rifle, it keeps snow out of the barrel. It must work because i haven't had one barrel obstructed with snow since i've lived in south Alabama.

Sapper, When i was in the Air Force, i loved exercises (drill). I was the squadron Exercise Evaluation Tean Chief, so i really didn't 'participate' other than generating senenarios and evaluating the troops responces. Great fun. Best of luck in the north country, i bet its really nice (?) this time ...

Lucky for the kid AND the cat that the cat didn't (couldn't) use its claws.
