Willie, Good ones. Reminds me of the story about Reeves Aluetian calling Shemya Island for landing instructions. Air Trafffic at Shemya told them to return to Adak because of very bad weather and visibilty at Shemya. A few minutes later the pilot called back and asked the controller to turn on the r...

Spitfire, Negative. You can't see the runway lights at night if they're off and the visibility is unlimited.......because the lights are off and its dark......i had a hard time explaining that to a controller.......she kept logging my RVR out of service because it was showing '0000' at night with th...

Helo, I know what you're talking about. Pilots are in the same category as air traffic controllers (no offence to Falcon). Can't explain 'squat' to them. They control millions of dollars worth of aircraft and thousands of lives, but you still can't explain to them how to flush a freaking toilet (no,...

Nellip,
West Midlands is that west of Midland Texas? Just joking. Remember, when replacing a hard drive, its very importatant to back up to CD's and external drives. Most important, don't forget the beer, because its an all weekend job.

Nel, I concur with Gurb, back up all personnal files first to a CD. Don't forget your address book and favorites from your browser. An other option (in addition to CD's) is to backup to an external drive. I ruetinely back -up personnal files (finance, tax files, address books, music, photos) to the ...

Error in last post, rum kicking in. "Kimchee" not "Kinchee" and no, you don't need a special permit for habinaros, a standard Department of Transportation Hazardious Material permit will do.

Geez Willie,
Sounds like remedial training was indicated. About as bad a guy checking an AIM-9 rocket motor with a PSM-6 multimeter; when the missle fired, i,m told, it strained him through a chain link fence. Got to be careful; they're not toys.

I think the rate of fire is 100,000 per/min but i think the durattion of fire was only a second or so (didn't see the clip, diap-up ISP). I saw a video years ago on 'fire storm', i think it was a glorified 'roman candle'. But as most of you guys know, if you're good, you really only need one shot! I...

LA-7's a great aero space platform, three 20mm guns do a fine job on the opposition.
